Pupil Premium Grant – Our Vision
Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School recognises that all pupils regardless of their background should benefit from equal access to a curriculum which will enable them to reach their full potential. The pupil premium is a Government initiative that targets extra money to pupils from deprived backgrounds, which research shows underachieve compared to their peers.
The Pupil Premium Grant is government money allocated to schools for pupils who have been registered for free school meals in the last six years, are in care (Looked After) or have been in the care of the local authority( Post Looked After) or have parents in the Armed Forces. This funding is designed to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers. Schools are free to decide how to allocate this funding to best support the raising of attainment for the most vulnerable pupils.
We aim to ensure we spend our additional Pupil Premium Grant on strategies to enhance the educational opportunities of our most disadvantaged pupils and that are effective in making a positive difference to our disadvantaged pupils of all abilities by helping to combat any barriers to learning and close any gaps in achievement so they do just as well as other children nationally.
